First ever Eastern Regional Blind Hockey Tournament in Ottawa this weekend

Accessible Media Inc. presents the 2016 Canadian Blind Hockey Eastern Regional Tournament brought to you by CNIB, June 25th and 26th at the RA Centre in Ottawa, ON. The event is the first ever regional Blind Hockey tournament organized by Canadian Blind Hockey, and will feature a two team best-of-three series that will showcase this fast growing parasport in the nation’s capital.

The 31 athletes who are blind or partially sighted competing in the event will be divided into two tournament teams, comprised of Ottawa area athletes, as well as members of the Toronto Ice Owls, Montreal Hiboux, Vancouver Eclipse Hockey Team , Calgary Seeing Ice Dogs, Edmonton SeeHawks, New York Nightshades, Washington, Wheelers Blind Hockey Club , andChicago Blackhawks Blind Hockey Clubs.

The 2016 Canadian Blind Hockey Eastern Regional Tournament is open to the public and is free to attend. The event takes place at the RA Centre Arena located at 2451 Riverside Drive in Ottawa, and will be sure to provide three games of thrilling competition that will demonstrate the incredible speed and skill of these legally blind athletes as they compete in one of the fastest sports in the world.
