Courage Canada Hockey for the Blind is a national registered charity that leads the development of the sport of Blind Hockey and provides children and youth with the opportunity to learn to skate and try Blind Hockey. We work collaboratively with the Canadian Blind Hockey teams to grow the sport of Blind Hockey in Canada and around the world, and partner with district school board vision programs to organize skating field trips that inspire, educate, and empower boys and girls who are blind or visually impaired from coast to coast.
Established 6 years ago in 2008, Courage Canada has already successfully established the annual ‘Courage Canada National Blind Hockey Tournament’ that is entering its 2nd year, and has run more than 100 skating field trips for over 500 boys and girls in communities spanning the country from Halifax to Victoria. We recognize the power of the sport of Blind Hockey as a catalyst for social change, and aim to inspire all Canadians from every walk of like to adapt and overcome any and all obstacles or challenges you find in your way.
Courage Canada relies 100% on corporate sponsorships and donations to run our programs, and is thrilled with the support of our non-profit presenting partner AMI – Accessible Media Inc. In order to meet the growing demand for our programs and ensure all Canadians who are blind or visually impaired have the opportunity to learn to skate and play hockey, we need your support.
Donate, sponsor, or contact us to find out how you can join the Courage Canada movement and help us in our mission of “bringing the blind to the ice, one stride at a time.”
